Brooklyn Public Library is one of the nation's great library systems. Financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations helps Brooklyn Public Library provide quality materials and services, like state-of-the-art technology in every branch, multilingual books, adult literacy classes, after-school programs, programs for older adults, and literary programs throughout our system.

Independence Community Foundation

Thank you to over 500 donors who helped BPL "Buy A Book for Macon." With your support we raised over $100,000 to rebuild the collection and establish BPL's first African American Heritage Center at the newly renovated Macon Library, scheduled to re-open in June. We would especially like to thank Independence Community Foundation once again for their generous pledge to match the $100k, doubling the funds available to re-stock the shelves at Macon.

Check out our new video, "Dream Every Day."

When you become a Library donor you will receive benefits and special invitations to events that only donors can enjoy. Please help support the Library today.
